HELP.

I cannot get to the updates. The "blades" on my server reflect they cannot reach the blades server. I am assuredly alive on the net or I couldn't post here.

E-smith - a little help here.

thanks

I experienced the same problem on both a SME v5.0 and SME v5.1.2 server.  The error message I received also stated it could not receive date from Blades Server.

Looks like it could just be a problem with the e-smith blade server, obviously.

I have the same problem, so i downloaded all the updates from FTP. But i am still not able to install. It tels me something about dependencies. Does anyone know a solution to this, I am running V5 since 5.1.2 didn't work well here.

I had the rpm errors too. the SMEServer update is dependant on the others, which said simply "unable to install." I used e-smith's command line ftp to download the rpms. It turns out that it was a binary problem. The ftp client said it defaults to binary, but the files were corrupted. After ftping to e-smith again I typed "binary" at the prompt and re-downloaded the rpms and everything worked fine. .

Hope that helps,

Joshua

Mitel throttled back network access to the blades NOC for non-paying customers, because their NOC could not handle all the requests coming in.

They are recommending to download the updates from the ftp site instead.  And to manually update via RPMS.

I think Darrell May is working on a better system for download updates... similar to blades, but it's way more flexible because you don't have to rely on any single company to access updates.

Question

Is there any way to run a blade server for our own customers
