Mysetup here in yhe office is generally NT4 SP^ desktops, e-smith 4.2.1 server and gateway. At a ramote site I have W98 desktop and e-smith 4.2.1 server/gateway. The W98 box in fact just runs a video capturte card so that we can view the security cameras remotly. This in fact does work from one NT4 box but not on any other and the vendor insist that they do not support NT4, only W98, ME and W2k. Fair enough. Note that VPN works fine from the other NT4 boxes, it is only the client video software which I cannot figure out a way to make work. So i installed a W2K professional box., set up VPN and guess what. I can link up using VPN, I can ping etc the remote e-smith box, but I cannot ping the box behind it. I can telnet to the e-smith server and ping it from there, I can ping it from NT, I can pc-anywhere to it from NT but cannot reach it from W2k. Does anyone have any ideas as to what the reason my be ?
