Hi,

When I try to install SME server on the old e-machine computer, it gave me the error message, and the installation is terminated. any idea what's the message means?

most likely this is a hardware incompatibility issue
out of 4 p200's I have at home, e-smith (redhat) would only install on 1 of them
the other 3 gave error messages and would not install

try it on another computer

Are you sure your CD is good?
Has the CD installed SME on any other PC?

I'm sure the CD is good, and I get it installed on the other machine, at first I think it's the cd rom problem, after I changed the cd drive it's the same thing, on the same machine I have run the 4.1 for almost a year, it had no problem at all, maybe 5.1.2 does nt work on it? I will try to roll back to 5.1.1 to see what would happen.

Ok, I have figured out the problem, I change the hard drive from Primary IDE port to the Secondary IDE port and the installation was finished smoothly, Then I change the Bios to let the computer boot from selected hard drive. everything is fine now.
