Seem to be having trouble with flexbackup on V5.0.4

I have an internal 20G tape drive with a pair of mirrored 40G disks. Only a couple of gigs of data so far, so no worries on the capacity front I guess.

It seems to run happily for six days and on the seventh disappears off this mortal coil. I am not sure whether the time interval is precise - I need to check again - and this may be a red herring.

More importantly, it seems to die in the middle of a dump (pardon the expression)

If I try to run /sbin/e-smith/backup on the command line it tells me no tape loaded whether one is or not.

/bin/mt -f /dev/nst0 rewind gives 'device or resource busy'

Any ideas as I am stumped !

I would agree on the boredom bit. Not the most exciting task to undetake admittedly !

Nice to know I am not alone. However I wish I knew what the answer is !

Apart from being a bit of a nightmare and totally unreliable......Means that I have to go to my clients every 5 or 6 days to check it. And I can't see a way of getting it to work without a re-boot.

Not impressed.

Anyone else got any ideas on this please ? Or where I might be able to look ?
