Outlook Express and IMAP Folders
« on: April 24, 2002, 12:35:28 AM »
Hello,

This is what I would like to do:

- Use Outlook Express as our IMAP client in the office
- Use IMP as the webmail IMAP client for users at home
- Use Procmail to set up filtering

The problems:

- Outlook Express can't read the default IMAP folder locations of SME
- Creating a custom template to change the default folder locations in SME fixes that problem but creates another
- The user-manager contrib rpm that contains Procmail doesn't work with the changed IMAP folder locations

The attempted fix:

- I tried changing the procmail template to reflect the IMAP folder changes: I changed MAILDIR=$HOME/Mail to MAILDIR=$HOME
- Didn't make any difference. Mail that met the procmail filtering rules was just dropped

Any ideas out there?

TIA

Derek

The standard IMAP folders and IMP's folders are stored in different locations by default. You can make a simple change to IMP's config to fix this. I don't remember exactly what it is, but I'm sure you can find it here.

OE 5 and 6 work fine with a vanilla e-smith 4 install, and after upgrading to 5.0. I left the root folder blank and had no problems at all.

Hi,

Getting OE to work isn't the problem. Getting procmail to work after changing the folder locations is the problem. Procmail works with the default IMP folders but OE doesn't. OE and IMP work with the changed folders but procmail doesn't. I want all three working together.

Thanks,

Maybe they don't change the search criteria to past 'Last 30 days' ?  I've done that a few times.stephen noble wrote:
