Topic: Server keyboard locked up

I am having a strange problem. After my server (4.1.2) has been up for more than a few weeks I will go to use the console but get no response from the keyboard, I can't login or do anything. The screen just stays black. Usually, if it is working, when I hit a key on the keyboard the screen comes up with the login prompt. The only way I can get it to work again is to push the reset button and restart the server. It then works for a while and then the same problem. The weird thing is the web server, samba, and even SSH access continue to work. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Can you use an other machine and SSH for now ?

Obviously you tried another KB . . .

Also in BIOS is KB enabled ?

Seems strange.

What do start up message say about KB type etc ?

I have seen this problem before when scroll lock is turned on.  May or may not be your problem as well.

I have not restarted it for a while now so I can't remember exactly what messages are shown during post, etc. I will look and see. Also, I only have Num Lock on, is that a problem too, or is only Scroll Lock a problem? Thanks again for the responses. I'll post back after I check the post and recheck the BIOS.
