Pop-before-smtp

I installed pop-before-smtp and following the instructions I checked to see if the processes were running (which the were) I tested the app by receiving mail then sending mail. Everything worked great. Once I rebooted the machine however users can not send after they pop. I checked the processes and they are running but everything is as it was before install pop-b4-smtp. I uninstalled the app then reinstalled. Again the mail was fine you could send after receiving but once the system restarted you couldnt. Is there a setting or a file that needs to be changed in order for this to work ?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Did you uncomment the appropriate lines in the install script?

------------------------------------
# Uncomment the daemons you wish to run here.  Note that smtp-cleanup
# is required!

#echo /var/pop-before-smtp/imap-before-smtp >> /etc/rc.d/rc.local
#echo /var/pop-before-smtp/pop-before-smtp >> /etc/rc.d/rc.local
#echo /var/pop-before-smtp/popSSL-before-smtp >> /etc/rc.d/rc.local
echo /var/pop-before-smtp/smtp-cleanup >> /etc/rc.d/rc.local

Hi Wesley;

I have a similar problem posted over in General forum. As Bill suggested, the config files are uncommented, the processes are running and I believe I have the latest version, as I installed on June 2nd from Nathan's website...I believe the release was on May 29th?.

I am having the same issue, works fine, reboot, do a console-save, or restart qmail, no worky, threads still running however.  Remove and reinstall, works fine.

I cannot re-install at this point as 'stickit.nu' seems to have disappeared off the face of the planet.

Have you come up with a solution?

Make sure you have the June 06, 2002 verison.  Stickit.NU was down due to a power outage, the UPS died.  It's online now.  The June 06, 2002 version fixes many bugs.

Hope this helped,
Nathan

I was running the June 6th version.

Anywho, I've done the reinstall, and it's working again.  Not going to reboot the server for a bit, but when I do, I'll let you know what's up.

When a reboot occurs the daemons should be executed from /etc/rc.d/rc.local

My question, what are the last 8 lines of your /etc/rc.d/rc.local?  Please paste them here.

Thanks,
Nathan

Not going to give you the last 8 lines, since they contain some information I do not wish spread around, but they are executed, and are showing as running in the background after a reboot.
