Topic: E-mail non delivery

I have a problem with e-mail delivery on the sme 5.1.2 machines. I suspect it is caused by the default fetchmail mail spilt on a multidrop download. Not just one machine either, same thing on several different machines.

I can get three messages in a row for the same account. 1 and 3 deliver fine. number 2 bounces. I have checked out the headers and the only thing I can see is most of the bounces are for bulk mail (ie maillists) or distribution lists/BCC e-mail. Others are from remote users with the calipso mail program. Have also got some that regularaly bounce from an Outlook and Outlook Express users as well.

On my main sendmail based server receiving between 5 and 10000 e-mails per day I have no problems. On a qmail based gateway receiving 50 emails a day I see 20 failures.

Anyone else seeing this?
Anyone trying different headers to spilt their mail? what header.  

I searched and found a few others were having problems but no fixes.

I have no idea why and would love to find out.

I dug around this archive a bit more and found references to a similar problem where it smptd-obtuse was first in line and may be part of the problem.

What impact if this rpm is removed??

I don't recall 4.1.2 having this problem.
