Topic: Inconsistent System State Detected

Hi folks,

I am trying to do a RESTORE FROM TAPE on my 512 build 1.  

I had also installed originally installed a lot of various RPMS i.e., the Update System, AWSTATS, email User-Manager, etc.  Do I need to install them again before doing the restore?

I am getting the following error message and can't find documentation on it:

Inconsistent System State Detected
The restoration of a system backup was running and incomplete at the time of the last reboot (which is not accurate).  the system should not be used in this state. Consult the User Guide for instructions.  

Well, I couldn't find any instructions.

Anyone have any thougths?  This is a major email server that needs to be up ASAP.

Hi all,

Found the problem.  I was rebooting when the program told me to.  You can't do that.  I was rebooting while the files were still munging away.  I waited a good 10-minutes after the message to ensure that there was nothing being written to the HD and then rebooted.  The Restore went in CLEAN!

Hope this can help someone else.
