ISDN is working! and now?
« on: June 27, 2002, 12:42:21 PM »
Hi all,

I've got a question on how to set-up my ISDN configuration. I'm using e-smith 5.1.2 and installed an ISA ISDN card.

I've created a file called isapnp.conf in /etc by doing

pnpdump -c > /etc/isapnp.conf

I've set the ISDN options in the setup screens after installation by running setup from the console again.

It's an ITK micro V3.0 and it's working using the hisax options:

type=9 protocol=2 io=0x0390 irq=11

Now my main question is: how do I configure e-smith using the templates in the correct way.
I do not know where to put the isapnp.conf file and I don't know where to set the hisax options.

Regards,

Lars

Hi,

You have to create a custom template for the /etc/isapnp.conf file.
See: http://www.e-smith.org/custom/ how to do this.

The Hisax options are set during initial configuration. And I read you've done this twice. There's no need to manually enter the hisax options again.

Take a look at this document for more details:
http://internet-sicherheit.net/isdn4es-howto.html

Don't perform these actions for it was inteded for version 4.x. Version 5.1.2 has native ISDN support by itself. Just for your reference.
