Topic: megaide.o error

Hello,

I have installed the 5.5beta9 version on a new pc with a AMD 2100 processor
512MB-ddr333Mhz pc2700, and 2 disks (20GB+60GB).
When starting the server I get the following error;

Unresolved symbols in> /lib/modules/2.2.19-7.0.8/scsi/megaide.o

Is this a bug, or do I have to install a driver or something.

I have the same problem with version 5.1.2, so it isn't a beta "bug"

(the mainbord type is:aopen ak77-333)

Maybe you can help me?

Saw that one before on one of my machines. It didn't interrupt services or functionality.
Sorry I can't help any further 'cause I don't have that specific setup anymore.

Well, I didn't think it causes any troubles, but I don't like a server to start with errors.
And I'd rather get this message away.
And maybe it can cause some problems in the future, and that is someting I want to avoid.
So if someone can help me find the problem, please do so.

You can safely ignore the warning messages. But if you really don't like them, and you do not have a Compaq IDE RAID controller, then just do:

rpm -e megaide
depmod -a

In that case I am curious what the file is for, is it only for RAID or something?
If so, then I won't need it, and shall turn it of (uninstall it)
