I tried it with the backup now and restore now panels, but it didn't work. BTW, you already send me that howto before, remember?

Oh...the Tandberg SLR24 is recognised by SME (as it is by RH); the same with the scsi card. I can't remember exactly what scsi card it is, but the chipset is supported by linux and recognised by SME.
I just build in the device as I received it. Maybe it isn't configured right, but I never worked with tape drives before (not worked before with scsi at all !) so I don't know how it should be configured. The device is used before so I guess it is configured well (it works in windows XP).
I suppose it already had to work?! So, I don't know if it is the best solution to simply replace the drive with a HP Colorado, do you?

Anyone else experience with Tandberg drives and SME? Or has anyone else some ideas for me? I already heard it could work with taper, but I haven't tried that yet...of course I will.
