qmail is god ?

Hi all,
I have sme 5.1.2 installed. I configured it to the my domain digital-sauce.co.uk.
Everything went smoothly, local accounts can email each other locally without going out to the internet.
However I have noticed something very strange.
I have some other colleages who do not have mailboxes on the sme server.
Yet for some reason sme is somehow capturing emails that are addressed to them even though the MX record for the domain is pointing to the ISP mail server.
How could this be ? I have sme collecting only my mail using my mail account and password. Yet it sends bounced mails to users who send mail to other users of digital-sauce.co.uk domain as colleages do not have any account and therefore mailbox on sme server.
Before anyone asks, for our clients this behaviour is good - they would like sme to collect mail.
I am just abit surprised that sme managed to receive email that is not mine.
Am I making sense ?

Let me guess - you are collecting from a multi-drop POP3 account, right? Multi-drop is just that, a big "pot" that all the mail goes into. When the SME connects to it, it _must_ take all mail, it cannot be selective about it.

Thanks for replying Nick,
I understand your point.
However the pop account I am getting my mail from is just mine.
It is a free mail account that I have registered. It does not hold any mail for any other domain users.
The mail account is my personal mail account. Email for my account (saleem@digital-sauce.co.uk) is mail forwarded to this free mail account. Within the mail retrieval panel I enter the details for this free mail account.
The only thing I can think of is that the domain for the e-smith server is the same as my internet domain.
Yet fetchmail can somehow find other mail that is destined for my colleages.
