people,

having trouble keeping vpn connections up from remote users on remote networks to a sme 5.1.2 box, and am looking at using freeswan. is it possible to connect multiple sites to one main site using freeswan? perhaps upto 9 remote sites to one main site?

many thanks

macca

the problem with the others originates from dhcp off of the main site's sme server i think ??? is there any specifics i should know if i drop freeswan and persivere with the original setup.

much appreciated

Yes.

Do a rpm -q freeswan from the shell and it will tell you what version you are running.

Also they have a config page on Freeswan.org with examples on how to set up multiple sites which should do the 9 connections that you will need.

See Darrell May's How-To:

Not sure if this works on 5.5, but it works fine on 5.1.2.  I also have my notes posted from setting up VPN between 2 sites.
