I am very new to using e-smith.  I have it set up and working fine with a address of 192.0.9.2 with the server having a adress of 192.0.9.50.  The workgroup is test with the server name being test-server.  I have several computers that need to get to this sever with address of 192.0.1._ .  I am unable to even see the server at all.
is it even possible to do this???  could someone please lead me in the right direction.  Thanks

Darrell May

Your IP addressing is incorrect.  All devices should be on the same IP range.  Suggest you read the online manual.  If you stuck with the defaults and enabled DHCP you would not have this problem.

I agree with Darrell that out of the box config using DHCP is best. If however you happen to be running a router you can use "Add Local Network" template to authorise subnet 192.0.1.x to access the e-smith box. If these are on a single local network then this does not apply.

You can set the subnet mask to include both subnets. If you use a subnet mask of 255.255.240.0 that will allow your computers to talk to each other.

Still probably better to use DHCP to setup your network
Hope that helps.
