using the underscore in user names
« on: August 07, 2002, 01:16:16 PM »
Hi,

I have around 100 users in my NT network and they all are called like this : user_xx (where xx is a number), all the security have been adjusted in every services for thos users and renaming them will be a very huge work and I really don't have time for that.

Is there a way to use the underscore for usernames on the SME ???
And why this f***g character is not allowed when "-" is ???

Thanks.

Walid,

You can create a user with an underscore, but not using the server manager interface. The parsing of the user name is done in the web interface script.

Read
http://myezserver.com/downloads/mitel/howto/addusers-howto.html

and install the script. It allows you to create users with an _ in the user name.
However I do not know what affect if any it may have further down the track.
