I downloaded last night and burnt a copy this morning and keep getting this error message on bootup.

"could not find kernal image : linux"

If i switch to dos/utils and run autoboot I get the message

"can't open image file for initrd"

Have I burnt the ISO correctly? I have tried several times using the latest easy cd creator, running straight from the file icon, (1st time), within the program (2nd), changing settings to burn an iso (3rd). All cd's are explorable and the files are there, but there also are in each folder, are these the problem?

Last I downloaded the diskimage file and tried that with no luck.

I have checked the file sizes and they are correct.

I can only assume that I am burning incorrectly, I have tried llooking elsewhere for burning iso's but you wouldn't believe how scarce this info appears to be (to me at least)

Many thanks

Have you created the boot floppy and booted from that? You should get a page of e-smith legalese, and type the word "accept" to install the e-smith software. (If you've tried to create a bootable CDROM and booted from that, it won't work.)

If that's what you did, can you elaborate more on exactly what happened, step by step?
Bye for now,

Oh the shame!

I was so keen to get this up and running that I only read the upper half of the screen. (Did not type accept)

And I'm always telling my wife "you've only got to follow the instructions on the screen"

I'm now downloading the manual and having a good read before posting anymore stupid questions!
