Port Forward: multiple ports opening
« on: October 02, 2002, 06:58:07 PM »
HI all,

I am trying to play multiplayer game with my pc behind SME 5.5. So I have to open some range of ports.

I have installed RPM for Port Opening and for Port Forwarding.

Documentation of game says:

TCP Port 47624 for inbound and outbound
TCP ports from 2300 to 2400 for inbound and outbound
UDP ports from 2300 to 2400 for inbound and outbound

Have I to use port forwarding, port opening or both?
How can I insert range of ports instead of sigle ports?

Thank you very much

Outgoing ports are not blocked. Unless the server is responding to a different port, starting any connection from the LAN should work...

Using the Server Manager panel addon, you can only forward single ports. You have to use the command line if you want to do a range.

Thank you for your answer.

DO you know any practical web/console interface to administer the
firewall for "per use" needs?

I only need to open these ports when gaming on line and close them
when finished.

Also an "open all" command could be ok if followed by a command to
reset firewall to SME standard config.

Any idea?
