Does anyone know if jukebox will work on e-smith 5.5?
If yes, is there any docs on this?

Thanks,

Evon.

Yes.
Yes.

Tip: Use the "search" feature, this has been discussed, well documented, etc.

I use Andromeda php script instead of Jukebox.

Using Winamp 3, I think it doesn't work with sme jukebox...
Anyhow

www.turnstyle.com/andromeda/

Anromeda is a jukebox style script that allow you to share across a web page any content you want.

It's very good for mp3s, and can stream any playlist you want.

AND it can stream any video content, serve as a .doc web-fileserver ...
So I use it with no fuss 8)

=> Create an Ibay with whatever security you want, allow execution of scripts
=> Copy the Andromeda script in the HTML folder of your ibay
=> put you MP3s/Video/ Ogg/Anything under the html folder of the ibay

Access through http://yourservernamehere/ibaynamehere/andromeda.php

If you want to stream with Winamp 3,remove all password  and only on local network, as Winamp3 cannot acceess through secure htpp yet 8) (took me time to understand Why the Heck it didn't stream and gave error 400 8(

I also put my AVI collection in it, and it streams to the pc connected to the tv set with no fuss.

Happy Jukeboxing

A happy SME -5.5 user 8)

Andromeda looks great.

Unfortunately in your glowing review you neglected to mention it's pricing, US$35 and up (way up!) depending on the license. I'm also concerned as I can’t figure out what differentiates between the various license categories.

Anyway, typing "mp3 jukebox" into the search will bring up Andromeda, Netjuke, etc. along with discussions regarding their merits and how to install them.

Modestly I put forth my howto on Netjuke:

Working great still ... now at 35 GB of mp3s & climbing (CDs disappearing into the closet, woohoo) now that my 100GB drive is happily spinning away in my SME server.

There's a howto in the contrib area.

And it works fine with 5.5 and Winamp3

I think however, that the howto refers to an old jukebox script. There's a more recent one in the same dir.

But I have heard good things about Netjuke - check it out. I will - some day...

The ApacheMP3 works without any problems as well. A Howto can be found at:

Need some help, my friends can't seem to stream the songs over the internet.
When they click stream it tries and then it says unknown host and stops.
They are using winamp, lastest version.

Thanks in advance,

Jehu.

I had this too.

You have to check what URL winamp is actually trying to play - you will probably find it is not what you expect it to be (i.e. it will be the wrong URL).

You can either right click on winamp to get the "file info" (stream info in fact) or you can download the playlist instead of opening it in winamp (right click and choose either "save link target as" or "save target as" then open the resulting file in notepad.

I had these problems in the past as well. ApacheMP3 seems to use the domain name of your server in the playlist and if the user is connecting via an IP address only it doesn't work. After I got a "real" domain address which was identically with the box (swerts-knudsen.dk) everything works excellent.
