Topic: username with a period

Help!
I can nolonger create usernames with periods in them. I have 17 accounts setup with them from when I was using ver5.12. I did a fresh install to this server and restored from backup for the user accounts and Ibays. Is there a fix, or even a command line like the one to change the length of usernames?
