Virtual Domains

i want to setup virtual domains on my e-smith box no big deal but i want to set up  xxxx.mydomain.com and mydoamin.com on the same box. my thought is that i just set up another virtual domain but I'm not 100% sure and i can't have my page down if it does not work thanks

Don't worry mate, it works just fine. Set-up and I-Bay and point your Virtual Domain there. Remember to have a DNS A Record on your Name Server for your Virtual Domain pointing to your external IP address.

That's all there is to it.

You don't have to create a DNS A record for the sub-domain. If you have a CNAME record with *.domain.com pointing to domain.com you can make as many sub-domains as you will, and they will all get directed to your server.

It works fine for me at least.
