Topic: email and Dynamic DNS (newbie)

I am partially successful with getting my SME 5.5 working under Dynamic DNS.  The web access works as does webmail.  However, I can't seem to get email to work properly.

It has me confused.  If I send an email message using smtp (internal) the message is sent and received.  If I send an email msg from external to the SME, it is never received.  I did expect to get an error or returned email msg to the external email address.  But it looks like the email is going into a big black hole.

Could someone be so kind as to give me some pointers on figuring out why the externally sent emails never arrive at the SME and why they don't bounce back with an error msg?

Have you registered with a dynamic DNS website such as dynsdns.org ?

If so check you external ip address is mapped to your Domain name with NSLOOKUP or go to samspade.org and enter you IP address there to see if its set up
