Hey,

Does anyone know if 5.6 and/or 5.6 betas are using ext3 file system as default?

SME 5.6 uses EXT3 by default.  I'm not sure if other journaling file systems are available/possible.

Great to hear. I have been waiting on this for a while now. I have been using Clark Connect because of the lack of ext3 in e-smith/sme. I would prefer e-smith and was once an e-smith partner, so am on board , but the journalling file system issue has been a sore spot for me.

Thanks for the info. I noticed the bug issues sections talks about 5.6 but cant find any release dates.

Does the latest beta have ext3?

Yes, Clark Connect is kind of clunky when compared with SME.

Yes, the latest SME 5.6 beta does use EXT3.   You can get an ISO here:
ftp://ftp.e-smith.org/pub/e-smith/dev/5.6dev/iso/
