You might be better off contacting Darrell May in his forums about a RAV problem:

Darrell has created a new configuration database called rav that containes two fields for managing the whitelist/blacklist.  These fields are:  wbl_accept and wbl_reject.

I use RAV and actively update my WBL and have never experienced a single problem with it.  What kind of information are you trying to input?

Interesting that you are having to add alot of blacklist entries.  I find that RAV lets only the odd spam message through without tagging it.  If anything, it gets a little too aggressive with its tagging.  90%+ of the WBL entries I have are whitelist entries.  What is your anti-spam configuration?  Is is possible that you have the anit-spam funtion disabled?
