Sorry, let me try and be a bit clearer.
The original settings on the Mitel box are what the clients on the LAN require. You can set it up to dial every hour, half hour, etc.
You can also specify connection lengths (long, short...).
This would be fine, except they don't work. The box doesn't queue mail and dials up every 2 minutes, creating a serious phone bill.
Now using Dungog's ISP package, you are able to add scheduled times when the server will dial, retrieve mail, and then disconnect.
Great.
The clients now have to manually initiate a connection via the Windows9x Dialmon program, to surf the net. (I changed all dial settings to 'never' to avoid the modem dialling up by itself.)
So if I now connect to the net, I can either be cut off by the scheduled dial/ disconnect, or by another user via his Dialmon program.
What I'm after is the ability to let the server dial up, retrieve mail every so often, and at the same time disconnect the modem should there be no activity for a period of time, or have the sense to keep the link alive if there's activity.
"By setting a time limit" it's possible to do this via the Dialmon.conf file. Checkout the Dialmon package, there's an rpm for it somewhere. (Can be overridden using the 'force' button, if allowed).
Hope this makes sense, probably not,

but let me know if I can help.
