Topic: pppd startup timed out

Hi all.
I've just installed e-smith 4.1.1. Everything looks great from the LAN but I have a problem dialing my ISP. External rockwell works ok on same machine with Mandrake or win95 (different hard disk) but e-smith constantly dials then drops the connection. Part of /var/log/messages below.
It suggests "Check your pppd options" but as a Linux newbie I'm not sure where to look.
Any help greatly appreciated.

i won't be of much help, but i can probably tell you what's going on. quite simply, your ppp config is awol. try setting it up again from the console (logging in as admin)
