fetchmail problem

Hi all
I just installed the sme server 5.5. as a dialup firewall gateway using isdn.
I want to poll a multidrop box for a number of people.
Now my problem
When I run "fetchmail -c" I get the following reply
"fetchmail: no mailservers have been specified."

I have tried manually editing the /etc/fetchmail file to see if I can get to the problem and have tried with everey option I can think of.
What am I missing ??

Is there a .fetchmailrc file I am missing?
The machine dials out normally and when I spesify the mailserver on the commandline with fetchmail it works.

Well Ian, it's time to read the manual, and understand the e-smith way of doing things. This is a very basic question that is well explained in the docs.

after that;

Step 1. Find the server-manager...

sorry i think i was a bit hasty on the trigger there didnt mean to come across as a well u know ... but i do appreciate your response but i did set everything up in the server manager but to no avail ... regardless of what i try it still gives me the same response.

Hi

If a try fetchmail -c -u user servername then it will check mail and tell me that i have two waiting but if it does it automatically then it it just comes back with the error message of no mail servers were specified.

I encountered this a few times. Whatever I've put in server manager, the info wasn't saved. I played around with /etc/fetchmail and /etc/startmail.

take a look at /home/e-smith/configuration and search for the line fetchmail. There should ne an entry to your ISP or the default. Change this to the correct value and save. Doa console-save after that. (/sbin/e-smith/signal-event console-save)
