Has anyone attempted to install TIKI on SME 5.6?
I followed 1 howto located at http://www.cusick.ws/doc/tiki-howto.html

All I get is a blank page!!!
What to do?  surely someone has installed tiki 4.2 on sme

That link works fine for me. I've used John's how-to and it is great.

I had the same problem. Based on the syslog file (/var/log/messages):

Feb 23 15:37:38 xxxxxx httpd: PHP Warning:  open_basedir restriction in effect. File is in wrong directory in /home/e-smith/files/ibays/tiki/html/db/tiki-db.php on line 4

I came to the conclusion that I needed to do the following (where "tiki" is the name of the ibay):

    bash-2.05# /sbin/e-smith/db accounts setprop tiki PHPBaseDir /
    bash-2.05# /sbin/e-smith/signal-event ibay-modify tiki

(see http://www.e-smith.org/faq.php3#6q12).

I've tried this a couple of times to no avail - the same error pops up in the messages log.

I've even tried rebooting the SME Server (5.6) (even though I know I read that I didn't have to.)

Anything else to look at?

Thanks! :)

I'm getting the same to.  Apparently, tiki 1.6.1 has made some sort of php change where now it can't write its smarty templates within an ibay.  If you install tiki in a non-ibay directory, and modify your httpd.conf to point to that directory, tiki works fine, so its definitely an ibay issue.

The same problem occurs no matter what permissions are set within the ibay, including 777

I'm wondering if the issue is with the // between templates_c and en, on the working site in a non ibay directory, this double slash does not appear...

I'll ask the tiki list if anyone has seen this problem...  I'm desparate to get it working in an ibay for management/virtual domain/ssl integration needs.  HELP!

Here is the error:
Warning: Smarty error: problem writing 'templates_c//en/%%886/%%886683555/tiki.tpl.php.' in /home/e-smith/files/ibays/prospace-tst/html/Smarty/Smarty.class.php on line 999

How do I modify httpd.conf so tikki works in the primary folder???

I dont have to use Tikki in an Ibay.

Please let me know.

Thanx,
Michael.
