Shared Address Book

Hi,

I have used e-smith for a while now, and I love it.
I want to help a friend of mine who is setting up a small business.

One thing that I want to do is to create some sort of shared address or contact manager, so that all of the employees can access a common address book.

I have looked at a few solutions (like Relata, Twiggi etc), but these all seem to be a bit of overkill !

I would appreciate any help or suggestions.

Thanks very much for your time,
Alan.

Hi Lloyd,

I looked at this today.
To a 'relative newbie to Linux' like myself, this is quite daunting.

I read the howto and downloaded the files.

I was hoping to install the latest e-smith v5.6, & this howto deals with installing on up to v5.1.2
This 'recipe' calls for using the 'make' command, which is not installed on e-smitth for security reasons.
I have read that I could always 'make' the perl files on a RH box, then copy them over, but I'm afraid that I don't have a RH box!

Nothing is ever as easy as it seems!

Thanks,
Alan.

TRY
http://www.hotscripts.com/Detailed/19796.html or
http://www.corvalis.net/address/

HotScripts.com has a lot of PHP and Perl scripts which I use on my SME 5.1.2 but work just as well on later versions. This Address Book is quite simple and it can be installed in an ibay, accessable from the Intranet and/or Internet.

If you need further assistance, you are welcome to email me.

We were looking for a shared contacts & shared calender for several businesses we support ans finally came across a top notch gpl alternative to outlook + exchange server functionality.  Its called webcalender, and you can get to it from http://www.linuxlinks.com/Web/Productivity_Tools/Calendar/ .  The homepage is
http://www.math.utexas.edu/webcalendar/

we're installing it with 30 days support fpr small businesses in england that want an alternative to the resource hungry echange server.  You can play with an online demo at our website if you like.
