Topic: Recompiling PHP

Hi,

Just wondering if there was a tried and trusted way for recompiling PHP on an esmith server. My main reason for doing so is to get a newer GD functions, i think the esmith PHP is compiled with older versions? and I need the functionality of the new ones.

I just don't want to wreck the server.
