SME56 /dev/random Problem
« on: February 18, 2003, 05:32:21 AM »
I am having a problem with IPSEC and I believe the problem is related to the /dev/random device on my SME56 box.
The command /sbin/e-smith/signal-event ipsec-install hangs (overnight)

If I cat /dev/random on three different machines (SME5.0,  SME5.1.2, and SME5.6), I get  occassional output.  This particular SME5.6 machine doesn't have any output.  Without any /dev/random output, I can't get a key generated for /etc/ipsec.secrets.

Has anyone run into the problem, and if so what did they do to fix it.

Thanks in advance.

Okay...I was able to complete the installation.
I went to the keyboard on my computer keyed in a bunch of commands, etc.
This used the interrupts of my keyboard to generate randomness.
