Topic: Snort on SME 5.6 server only

I have read the How To on installing snort and acid on an SME 5.6 server.  the instructions say it is for a machine in server/gateway mode, which mine is not.  it is server only mode connected to a switch.  the swith is connected to the router which is connected to the DSL line.

Any hints on installing snort and acid on a server-only set up.
