Topic: SMB Connetection Lost

I have installed E-Smith SME Server 5.12 with around 100 Clients, most of them have MS Windows 98 installed on them, everthing was working fine since last 6 months, but all of a sudden I am facing some problems.

The major problem that I am facing is all of a sudden, All of my clients are not able to connect to the SME Server, they can ping the server but they cannot connect to any of the ibays, I think the problem lies with the Samba Server.
I even tried to search the forums but could not find a proper solution to it.

Please help me out with the above problem.

We have about 80 clients, mostly win95, and have seen similar problems in recent weeks. It's usually a subset of users that report problems however -- not everybody at once.

service smb restart

seems to clear the problem, but can cause some distress to those who were still successfully connected to the server.

FYI our server is supported by Mitel and they have a ticket open on this.
