Topic: Unable to go to logon to my domain

Just recently I have been unable to log on to my domain. Everything was working great until two days ago. When I plug in the URL for my domain it times out.

Example of my domain  "http://www.whyme.com"

However I can access "http://www.whyme.com/mission"  without a problem.

I am stumped?

I can SSH into my root or admin account no problem to make the required changes., just don't know where to start.

One other really important fact here is I can no longer access my server-manager from behind my firewall.

If someone can lead me in the right direction it would be much appreciated?

Are you have a static or dynamic IP address from your ISP?

Are you on a static or dynamic DNS?

Hey Paul,

I have a dynamic IP address, although it has not changed for a long time?
I also use  DYNdns.org to constantly ping my site to ensure it is mapped correctly. Everything on my account there seems fine.

Any other thoughts

See if you can do an http://server name and see if the main page opens. If it does then there is a problem with NAT. If you are running a router for NAT translation verify that the portforwarding is still set for port 80 to forward to the server.

OK,  I can get every page but your home page.  Is your index.htm page still there?

Is your home page a gray and white type page or the tan pages with the blue boarders and animated letters?

yes my index page is still there.
My main page is grey and white.

Is this the main domain or a virtual domain?

Give me another file name in the html directory, maybe permissions got changed in the main directory or just the index file.

also, you could try and rename the index.htm page to something else and temporarilly putting a small "hello" index page in the directory to see if there is something wrong with the index file.

P.S.  You might want to remove all of the server manager items from your web site unless you have som really GOOD passwords and really need those services available to the outside world.
