Building a patched 5.6 kernel for FreeS/WAN with NAT-T patch
«

Hi,
I'm wondering if anyone has built a 2.4.18-5 kernel for E-Smith 5.6 with the NAT-T (
http://open-source.arkoon.net/
) patched version of FreeS/WAN 1.98b or 1.99. If so, are there a standard set of options during the kernel configuration that should be selected to stay as close to the "official" kernel as possible?
Thanks,
Lawrence

Disregard this message, I figured it out. However, NAT-T didn't help my IPSEC situation. I have since moved to CIPE with a lot of success.

Hi, mind to share your experience ? I'm setting up E-smith 5.6 and like to configure IPsec for remote dial in.

Hi Ron -
Sorry for the delay. Are you asking for information on how I ended up building the kernel, or are you asking for help configuring IPSec?
Regarding the kernel, I was able to build a custom kernel using the instructions from this URL:
http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/linux/RHL-7.3-Manual/custom-guide/ch-custom-kernel.html
If you're asking for help with IPSec, I'm not the best person to ask, since I abandoned it for CIPE
Regards,
Lawrence
