Topic: Broadcast Multicast Packets over a PPTP VPN Connection

Hi all,

I have one e-smith 5.6 with update patch 2 installed, two ethernet boards one for external connectivity and other internal. All the ISPs that I can connect to do not alow Multicast over the Internet. So the only way is having that trafic over one private VPN tunnel starting on the client aplication and ending on e-smith internal network.

I have a specific aplication that needs to broadcast UDP multicast packets to several Client aplications.

Those Clients Access over a PPTP VPN connection and should receive the multicast packets from the server aplication.

I do not know if e-smith 5.6 is able to route multicast over ppp0 device?

There is a need of any specific configuration on e-smith?

What configurations should I acomplish to be sussefull.
