Windows applications sharing data on SMEServer

I am preparing a list of applications which run on Windows clients, where the data can be hosted on an SMEServer.

I'd be glad to receive (short) details of any applications that you know of, either here, or by email (brianr at bjsystems.co.uk).

I'll publish the final list.

cheers

I would do the list of the networkable apps NOT compatible with sharing data on SME instead. It would be much shorter (if any).

I agree with Boris.  A NON COMPATABLE list would be MUCH shorter.  Currently I have the following running successfully on a production server:

1-Peachtree accounting for Windows release 5.0 (this is an older network version of Peachtree).

2-Calyx Point 3.8 for Windows.

Both the above applications have been tested for months without any problems.  I will be testing a couple of other apps and will post results later.

I have read in other posts that newer versions of peachtree have had problems.  MOST newer versions of peachtree are NOT multi-user unless you buy their multi-user version, this MAY be the problem with the newer versions.  To run peachtree and properly share data files, it MUST be a multi-user version.

Also, Update3 (new this week) addresses some samba issues.  It updates samba from 2.2.5 to 2.2.7.  This has the very latest security update for samba and includes some inhancements that have been addressed in previous versions.

I understand your point about a non compliant list, but I want a positive list for my web site.

Thanks for the info, hoping for some more from others.....

cheers

I agree that a non-compliant list would be shorter, but unless an application appears somewhere on a positive list one will not know whether it doesn work or just hasnt been tested. I agree with Brian there is value in having a positive list.
