imp 3.2.1 login problem
« on: April 11, 2003, 08:01:14 PM »
I updated my 5.5 to 5.6 and then used the update 3.  Things worked ok.  So then I graded my imp and horde using the following:  e-smith-horde-1.7.0-04db.noarch.rpm, e-smith-imp-1.9.0-06db.noarch.rpm, horde-2.2.1-1es.noarch.rpm, and
imp-3.2.1-2es.noarch.rpm.  I just did an rpm -Uvh on all files and nothing else.  Now when I try to login, I get the following error.

http://mail.odessa.k12.mo.us/horde/imp/login.php?1=1&imapuser=bjennings&server=imap.example.com&reason=failed

I'm unsure where the imap.example.com is coming from.

Did I leave out a step when installing the rpms?  Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Brad (I should leave production servers alone) Jennings

thanks for the quick response.  That worked, as far as letting me login.  Now I have another problem.  My email shows the number of messages that I have, but the date, from, and subject are all blank.  The size of the message shows up also.  And there is no folder pulldown menu either.  Got any suggestions for me?

Did you follow the last step of the howto?

[root@e-smith imp_upgrade]# /sbin/e-smith/signal-event horde-update

See http://www.familybrown.org/howtos/imp321-upgrade.html for more information.

Patric, what was written on that thread has nothing to do with the current RPMs (you are using those, right?).  What version of SME are you using, what updates (if any) are installed, and exactly what RPMs did you install?

If you're using the current RPMs, the horde-update event should update all the config files, including servers.php.

I am using e-smith 5.5 thats the problem i think.
I have installed all off the six files what are needed for the upgrade
I installed v5.6 but it is 5.5
must i do "e-smith up" on reboot ??? I have than a choice.

Those upgrades are not supported on SME 5.5, period.  If they work, great, but no guarantees.  No, "e-smith up" won't do anything for you--you need to upgrade to 5.6 if you want these to work (or track down the problem, but I'm not going to be able to help you, as I don't have a 5.5 box to work with).
