You have a perfect working e-smith box!!!!
this is normal operation!
you dont need to specify a port # for web access!
you only need to pint your site with any dns service and you are on air, your server will allow conection types and ports acording to the configuration made in "remote access" and "information bays" secction of the web based e-smith manager (by default 192.168.1.1:980) that is only accesible from the internal network
(port 980 is restricter behind the server).
I can recommend to you, not to modify these restrictions , cause they're intended to preserve your lan and server security,
As you said you have enabled telnet on your server, what is a kind of "piece of cake" for a malicious user or even for a curious newbie hacker, what is worst!!! (use ssh connection instead)
