Hi
Following extract from messages log covering the period before I had to power cycle the server.
Login had not been possible from local console, LAN workstations, pointing browser at server-manager, or putty from the internet.
Would this be the killer line?
"kernel: VFS: file-max limit 4096 reached"
and if so, should I be checking with a) user car who was the only local user at the time or b) the Unison job which would have been running at the time.
What pertinant questions should I ask those 2 users?
Many thanks
David
