Does anyine know which files i have to change to modify the group membership of each user?

example:  I have 75 users on my system and now have a requirement to add 10 new groups, i have the option to modify each user individually from the web interface, but would prefer a quicker solution by importing a file - or similar

I've written a couple of scripts to do these kinds of tasks, i.e.: batch processing users, groups, pseudonyms, quota and ibays. I consider them still "beta", but if you're daring you can have a copy. Otherwise, wait a week or so for the final release on contribs.org.
