I set up a file server, to use DHCP, without thinking when I first hooked it up. I now what to change it, to a static IP address, but when I do so, the file server's name ( fs-fileserver ) wants to stick with it's assigned IP address 192.168.20.70, instead of the one I statically assigned on the computer, which is 192.168.20.19. Any suggestions on how I can tell the server, without rebooting, to retrieve the new IP address from the machine?
Thanks.
