DansGuardian and SARG questions
« on: June 12, 2003, 11:39:49 AM »
Hi,

I use DansGuardian and SARG for content filtering and web acces reporting.

In sarg, are we able to see the user name instead of the IP adress. SME is not the PDC but is a member of a WIN 2K domain. If not, can we see the netbios name ?

Is it possible to limit internet access for some user (or IP) to some hours? Can we configure it whith a graphical tool ?

thanks,

Cyrus Bharda

Benja,

The squid-auth rpm I use actually adds the username onto the SARG reports.

It also allows you to allow/disallow access to http/ftp, but not at certain times, you'd probably have to look at setting something up with cron for that, way outta my leauge :-)

How did you make the SME part of your windows domain? Is it also a dns server or is the win box your dns?
