Both sites are running 5.6. They are connected via VPN handled by hardware routers.
If I usually work at site 1, I want to log into my home drive on server 1, shared i-bay on server 1 and shared i-bay on server 2.
If I usually work at site 2, I want to log into my home drive on server 2, shared i-bay on server 1 and shared i-bay on server 2.
If I usually work at site 1, and I am VISITING SITE 2, I want to log into my home drive on server 1, shared i-bay on server 1 and shared i-bay on server 2.
If I usually work at site 2, and I am VISITING SITE 1, I want to log into my home drive on server 2, shared i-bay on server 1 and shared i-bay on server 2.
I have tried Greg Zartman's SME Domain Client Howto and I've tried Sean Gray's Remote Samba server with PDC authentication, but they didn't do the trick. I have the site 2 folks listed as users on both servers and the site 1 folks only listed on server 1.
If I make server 1 the PDC, everyone at both sites logon to server 1. If I set both up as PDC's, logons work correctly except If I usually work at site 1, and I am VISITING SITE 2, then it doesn't find me.
I'm thinking there has to be a way to make the logon script check to see where the user's home is and direct the home drive accordinglly. I know that on the Windows servers that I replaced, the option to set where the home folder was I set in the users panel.
Or do I have to do something with private i-bays?
I'm lost at this point!!
