OK,

Well here's all the information I have about a panel for cbq:

1. Johnathan Storey is in the process of building one:

http://forums.contribs.org/index.php?topic=17814.msg69679#msg69679

2. Juan and Jamie have already got english/french/spanish translations and we just have to wait until they get time to release them:

http://forums.contribs.org/index.php?topic=17814.msg69679#msg69679

So really we just need to wait!

Hi all,

Please sorry for the looooong delay, specially to the translators. We are just reaching a deadline for a project and this just gets down in our todo list every time we have a chance to do the rpm.

Juan Jesus is right now doing the rpms (spanish, french and english) and hope to place them in contribs.org today.

  Regards.

[Update]

  Hi all,

The rpms are ready, just need to place them in contribs.org and official SME servers. We are just awaiting to contact Mitel staff and contribs admins :)

I've heard mention of 'wondershaper' -  http://www.lartc.org/wondershaper/ - whenever Qos or bandwidth shaping is mentioned, so I went and installed it.

I suppose this panel and its settings would probably conflict with it... anyone know? wondershaper uses 'qdisc' and 'cbq' / 'sfq' type stuff.

One thing I'm most curious about - wondershaper requires significant tweaking of it's overall download/upload settings to achieve maximum effect - which in my case meant multiple trips to dslreports speedtest and pinging the box from external sources - will this contrib require that too?

Cheers,

G

PS. anyone with a 1.5Mbit/768Kbit dsl line - I can give you ideal wondershaper settings :) (and pretty graphs to prove it!)

Hi,

Wondershaper is more a "stand alone" solution, like for a client computer than for a server acting as a gateway.

I don't quite follow... a server/gateway is a client computer with other clients behind it?

Wondershaper installed on a gateway would just mean it wouldn't have to installed on all clients, or am I getting the wrong end of the stick here...

From further reading I do note that the goal of wondershaper is particularly to stop choking off downloading from over-saturated uploading. This panel perhaps has the same goal but more defined "levels"?

Hi all,

We have just released the last beta version of eneo-qos. This time its in english and french too besides spanish. Yes I know, the language is hardcoded but we have no time to catch up with SME releases. Now that official SME is in spanish ... :)

I would like to give thanks to Timothee Bastin for the english translation, and to Julien Sachy for the french one. They should get all the credit (and claps) of them.

As allways, you can find them in eneo contrib directory in Mitel mirrors. We are in the process ofgetting a contribs.org account but not there yet (it will be there too).

  The files are:

eneo-qos_cbq-0.1-05.noarch.rpm
eneo-qos_cbq-0.1-05en.noarch.rpm
eneo-qos_cbq-0.1-05fr.noarch.rpm

This is considered a beta release even when we are using it in production. In srpms directory you can find the src files.

  Enjoy.

Hi Buck,

Wondershaper creates a set of rules regarding "itself". You cant configure it to manage IPs behind it, so is not very useful in a gateway (but it is in a client station).

For gateways its better to use cbq.init (used in SME), htb.init (a better clone for HTB systems) or directly tc orders.
