Hi Guys N Gals
Help!
I have a dds4 in our server and the backup part of it works well.
I Use the Backup & Restore example below.
Enable tape backup
Tape backup time of day (hour/min) AM/PM: AMPM
Load tape reminder time of day (hour/min) AM/PM: AMPM
Again all works fine.
However i use a utility called restore now. Example below.
==========================================================
Enter the files and directories you want to restore below. When completed, click the Restore Now! button to have your selections restored to their original locations.
Note, your ibays are actually under the directory tree location: /home/e-smith/files/ibays/ibayname/files/ so to restore your files you must enter the entire path. For instance in the examples below the ibay name is main and we are restoring to the subdirectory data. In Windows explorer this would be viewed as //server/main/data.
To restore a single file, enter as an example:
/home/e-smith/files/ibays/main/files/data/filename.doc
To restore a all .doc files in a directory, enter as an example:
/home/e-smith/files/ibays/main/files/data/*.doc
To restore an entire directory tree, including all files and sub-directories, enter as an example:
/home/e-smith/files/ibays/main/files/data/
Restore1:
Restore2:
Restore3:
Restore4:
Restore5:
This is failng to restore the file i need.
Restore1: /home/esmith/files/ibays/data/files/_A/__Accounts/BusinessPlan/MAL/cash books/Current/*.xls
Below is the failure report..

I think it's getting the type of device wrong, I have thought of using the tar command, but to be honest i worry of Accidentally installing the whole server or something going horribly wrong.
Can someone please help here, Appreciate all efforts.
