Cake & Eat It Too w/ Icing

Good Evening,

Ok, I like my cake with icing when I eat it. I love the contribs by dungog.net and e-smith.dyndns.org. To the point, I like the way that the e-smith.dyndns.org squid authorization contrib separates the main users from proxy users. The contribs from dungog.net require that you put the users in the regular way which opens the users up to email and everything available to a regular user. I don't want the students to have email access but I have to put them in the main user list so they can have web proxy access. Am I saying this right? Is there anyway to merge these two?

The only workaround that I see is to have a server/gateway that isn't an email server and has no domain name tied to it for the students. The dungog contrib w/dansguardian only allows two ways of accessing, filtered or unfiltered. This means that the filter is a blanket policy which means that I have to have at least two server/gateway boxes to complete the scenario for web access. To go a step further, to accomodate everyone, I'm going to have to execute a separate *.msi file to change the settings for IE v5 or 6 that ties into the username so that the proxy settings in IE will point to the different boxes. A different one for teachers, elementary students, and high school students.

Any ideas guys?

A penny for your thoughts.

Good Evening,

I was wondering if anyone had run across this issue with port forwarding. After installing the dungog.net rpm's, it seems that the dmc-mitel-portforwarding contrib doesn't work. I had to install the port forwarding contrib from e-smith.dyndns.org to successfully port forward.

A penny for your thoughts....
