Topic: ACID & SNORT install

this may sound stupid but after following the guide i get to this

Open your web browser and go to https://www.yourdomain.com/acid
You'll need to login with the admin username and password. Once you're authenticated, voila.

but i carnt log on, ive tried http://admin@www.yourdomain/acid

and i get authorization error (not a 404) any help would be good

I believe that your format only passes the UID you also need to give a Password.  Try this

http://admin:password@www.yourdomain.com/acid

OTOH, don't bother including the UID:Password just use

http://www.yourdomain.com/acid

you will then get a login box where you can supply the admin UID and password.

yeah tried them both still comes up with auth error, seems really weird to me since the server-manager promts me for the password like normall but acid dosent, it just says i need to be auth'd

Acid requires a secure link as far as I know. So you need HTTPS instead of HTTP at the start of your link.

I'd like to install snort&acid, using the directions on http://marari.net/downloads/snort/acid-howto.htm. But the links to the snort binaries are dead and I had no luck finding them elsewere. Can anyone point me to those binaries? (I did compile the latest Snort from the tarball, but that seems not to work with this HowTo)

I found these http://dag.wieers.com/packages/snort/ and installed them as per the HOWTO by  http://marari.net/downloads/snort/acid-howto.htm and all seems to be working.

you can get all those from the snort website as well
