Hopefully someone can help. Mitel Networks SME Server 5.5. Install the rpm DansGuardian-2.6.1-3.RH72.i386.rpm from Dungog and this should put a graphical link into the server-manager page but does not. Dansguardian is up and going but  the client needs a easy to use graphic front end hence this. Has any one had success with this rpm, if so how or any ideas ????

Thanks in advance

I followed the instructions for this and paid the money for the Dungog management system and it all installed first time and worked without any issues. I have however recently moved my Dansguardian install onto a firewall running IPCop so that my SME server can concentrate on handling the website and e-mail I need it to run. The IPCop solution with Dansguardian is

1..free
2..provides web based management
3..really simple to install

It sits between my hardware firewall and my Windows 2K network and acts as filtering proxy and further secures my pcs from external attack. My SME box sits in the DMZ of the hardware firewall and is serving the school website and providing staff with webmail both in school and at home.

The rpm you mention is only the standard Dansguardian rpm, are you sure you also obtained the Dungog rpm that goes with it to provide the front end? Its one of their chargeable updates. If you havent installed that also then you wont have the management front end.

I think you need to install the $33.00 version.

Good Morning,

I highly recommend the dungog.net rpm's. I looked and looked for something free but didn't find anything that compared to Mr. Noble's work. I've looked at the IPCOP solution and still came back to SME. Make sure that you install the 6.2-3 rpm and not the 6.2-4 rpm. The 6.2-4 rpm has some bugs in it out of the box. I didn't have time to look at it in depth yesterday but had great success with 6.2-3.

Now if I could just get e-smith.dyndns.org and dungog.net together I'd be in heaven. e-smith.dyndns.org has a squidguard package that creates a panel for a proxy user list. This means that they aren't in the main user list so they have access to email and the likes.

Have a great day!!
