6.0 B3 server-manager quirks
« on: August 28, 2003, 07:53:43 PM »
Hello,

Has anyone else encountered this? When installing a contrib, SME 6.0 puts it in a new server-manager group called "unknown". Doing a post-upgrade and reboot creates the proper group or puts the contrib into the proper group. Kind of inconvenient.

Sounds like an issue with the beta.  Have you reported this to smebugs@mitel.com and/or to the developers of the contribs you're using?

I've seen the same behavior in my SME 6.0 servicelink box, even with Mitel blades.  Part way through my SME 5.6 to SME 6.0 upgrade, servicelink blades panels where in an "unknown" category.   Once the upgrade was complete, they were back in the servicelink category.

I suspect that this isn't a bug, but a feature added to SME 6.

I believe it is a new security feature
anyway to fix the addon locations I have found you have to
run thru configure this server program again # 2 on the server
console you don't have to change anything but just go thru
all of the screens

I have been running 6.0 b3 since it was out NO PROBLEMS
but they have changed some things like mysql access

small pain for such a great server

Correct. It's a side effect of caching which is done to speed up manager navigation frame painting (by popular demand).

Run:

/etc/e-smith/events/actions/navigation-conf

after adding any new packages containing panels. [ServiceLink blade installation does this automatically.]
